Chris Paul has been very solid for the Los Angeles Clippers so far this year

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Tuesday 31 January 2012 at 7:33 pm

26-year old point guard Chris Paul has been just what the doctor ordered for the Clippers when he has been healthy this year.  Paul has played in 13 games (all starts) for the Clippers so far this year and he is averaging 36.4 minutes, 18.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 8.9 assists and 2.5 steals per game.  He is also shooting well from everywhere on the court as he is hitting 50.8% of his shots from the floor, 44.7% from three point range and 86.4% from the free throw line so far this year.  The offense is really playing like a fine tuned engine when Paul is the trigger man, so they need him to stay healthy going forward.

Mo Williams is heating up as of late for the Los Angeles Clippers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Saturday 28 January 2012 at 12:13 am

29-year old point guard Mo Williams has really stepped up as of late.  In his last five games, Williams is averaging 22.2 points, 1.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game.  He has now played in 13 games (1 start) for the Clippers so far this year and he is averaging 27.2 minutes, 14.9 points, 1.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game.  He is shooting red hot from everywhere on the court as he is hitting 52% from the floor, 45% from three point range and 91.7% from the free throw line so far this year.  Williams could make a serious run for the Sixth Man of the Year Award in the NBA if he stays on the Clippers all year long.

Caron Butler is playing pretty well for the Los Angeles Clippers so far this year

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Tuesday 10 January 2012 at 5:45 pm

31-year old shooting guard Caron Butler is off to a solid start for the Clippers so far this year.  He has played in 6 games (all starts) for the Clippers so far this year and he is averaging 34.0 minutes, 14.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game.  Butler is the #4 option offensively for the Clippers behind Blake Griffin, Chris Paul and Chauncey Billups….but he’s just fine with that.  Butler is a glue type of player who plays hard at both ends of the court.  He was one of the better additions that the Clippers made to the roster after the lockout was lifted.

Blake Griffin has been awesome so far this year for the Los Angeles Clippers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Thursday 5 January 2012 at 12:52 am

22-year old power forward Blake Griffin is off to a blazing start this year for the Los Angeles Clippers.  He has played in 4 games (all starts) for the Clippers so far this year and he is averaging 36.8 minutes, 26.0 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game.  He is shooting 54.8% from the floor so far this year, as his range is starting to expand.  Griffin is the go-to man on the Clippers and Chris Paul will likely be feeding him the ball quite a bit this year.

Mo Williams played solid basketball last year for the Los Angeles Clippers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Thursday 26 May 2011 at 4:28 pm

28-year old point guard Mo Williams came to the Clippers in the big deal with the Cavs at the trade deadline.  The pick the Clippers traded for Williams turned out to be the #1 overall pick in the NBA Draft.  Hindsight being always 20/20, the Clippers may not have made that deal if they thought they would have gotten the #1 pick, but the deal did allow them to ship Baron Davis and his big contract out of town.  Williams played in 22 games (all starts) for the Clippers last year and he averaged 32.9 minutes, 15.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game.  He played in 58 games (all starts) overall last year with the Clippers and Cavs and he averaged 30.8 minutes, 14.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game.  Williams has now played in 537 games (431 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 30.6 minutes, 13.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.  The Clippers think that Williams will be a good fit for the team going forward.

Eric Gordon stepped up his game for the Los Angeles Clippers last year

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Wednesday 4 May 2011 at 12:51 pm

22-year old shooting guard Eric Gordon really improved in 2010-11 for the Clippers.  He played in 56 games (all starts) for the Clippers last year and he averaged 37.7 minutes, 22.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game.  If Gordon wouldn’t have missed so many games due to injury, the Clippers might have finished pretty close to .500 last year.  Gordon has now played in 196 games (181 starts) in his first three years with the Clippers and he is averaging 35.8 minutes, 18.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game.  Gordon is going to be a key part to the rising team called the Clippers.

Chris Kaman had a nice month in March for the Los Angeles Clippers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Tuesday 5 April 2011 at 1:43 pm

28-year old center Chris Kaman has had a rough year but he started to turn things around in March.  Kaman played in 14 games in March for the Clippers and he averaged 27.4 minutes, 14.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.5 blocked shots per game.  He has now played in 30 games (13 starts) so far this year and he is averaging 25.8 minutes, 12.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.4 blocked shots per game.  With the emergence of DeAndre Jordan, the Clippers might try to deal Kaman over the summer.

The new guys are playing pretty well for the Los Angeles Clippers so far

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Friday 18 March 2011 at 6:52 pm

28-year old point guard Mo Williams and 30-year old small forward Jamario Moon are off to solid starts for the Clippers.  Williams has played in 9 games (all starts) for the Clippers since coming over in a deal with the Cavs at the trade deadline and he is averaging 34.0 minutes, 16.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game.  He has been a nice upgrade over Baron Davis at point guard.  Jamario Moon has played in 9 games (0 starts) for the Clippers so far and he is averaging 12.3 minutes, 3.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game.  Despite Williams playing so well, the Clippers could still regret this trade if the lottery pick they sent the Cavs turns into a top three pick.

Randy Foye is stepping up for the Los Angeles Clippers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Tuesday 8 February 2011 at 8:00 pm

27-year old shooting guard Randy Foye is stepping up for the Clippers lately.  In his last 8 games, Foye is averaging 33.6 minutes, 15.4 points, 1.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game.  He has now played in 31 games (7 starts) for the Clippers so far this year and he is averaging 18.0 minutes, 7.0 points, 0.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.  Foye is only shooting 36.5% from the floor and 29.9% from three point range so far this year.  But, Foye has stepped up with Eric Gordon down to injury and the Clippers are glad about that.

Ike Diogu has hit the ground running for the Los Angeles Clippers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Friday 28 January 2011 at 9:25 pm

27-year old forward Ike Diogu has played pretty well since signing with the Clippers.  Diogu has played in 16 games (0 starts) for the Clippers so far this year and he is averaging 15.4 minutes, 6.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game.  He is a solid bench player for the Clippers and he has really given them a boost with his play.  They hope he keeps up the good work and forces them to make a decision when Craig Smith returns to action.
