Telfair has played in 39 games (1 start) for the Clippers this season and he is averaging 14.9 minutes, 4.3 points, 1.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. Mardy Collins will likely pick up Telfair’s minutes at the point. He has played in 22 games (0 starts) for the Clippers this season and he is averaging 8.1 minutes, 1.8 points, 1.0 rebound and 0.5 assists per game. The Clippers have signed 24-year old point guard JamesOn Curry to provide depth at the point but he has never played in a NBA game.

Blogged under Big Clippers News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by alleyoop on Wednesday 18 November 2009 at 9:18 am

The Clippers have lost back up guard Kareem Rush for the season with a torn ACL in his right knee. Rush played in 7 games (0 starts) for the Clippers last night and he averaged 8.3 minutes, 1.3 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game. The Clippers will likely give Rush’s minutes to Ricky Davis and that is likely a good thing.

The Los Angeles Clippers lose Eric Gordon

Blogged under Big Clippers News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by alleyoop on Tuesday 10 November 2009 at 10:18 pm

The Clippers will be without starting shooting guard Eric Gordon for at least the next 10 days due to a pulled groin. Gordon has played in 7 games (7 starts) for the Clippers this season and he is averaging 38.4 minutes, 18.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game. Rasual Butler will replace Gordon in the starting lineup until he is ready to return to action. Butler has played in 8 games (4 starts) this season for the Clippers and he is averaging 30.3 minutes, 10.4 points, 3.0 rebouinds and 1.9 assists per game. Losing Gordon will hurt the Clippers in both the starting lineup and the bench with Butler moving into the starting unit.

Blake Griffin will miss the first six weeks of the NBA season

Blogged under Big Clippers News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries,Rookie Reports by alleyoop on Tuesday 27 October 2009 at 6:16 am

Rookie power forward Blake Griffin will miss the first six weeks of the NBA season due to a stress fracture in his left kneecap. This is a huge blow to the Clippers who were depending on Griffin to be a force from day #1. Marcus Camby will be put back into the starting lineup until Griffin is ready to return. Craig Smith will also see a bump in playing time as he is a very, very underrated player. If anything were to happen to Camby or starting center Chris Kaman then Smith would finally get a chance to show what he can do as a starter. DeAndre Jordan will also see a increase in playing time as he will now be the #2 center behind Kaman until Griffin is ready to return. He has a nice upside too.

The Los Angeles Clippers lose center Paul Davis for the season

The Clippers have lost second year center Paul Davis for the season due to a torn ACL. Davis played in 22 games this season and he averaged 8.8 minutes, 2.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. Davis should work on his shot as he’s rehabbing as he only hit 36.9% of his shots from the floor and 60% from the free throw line.

The Los Angeles Clippers will be without Corey Maggette for a while

This will hurt the Clippers a little bit but Ruben Patterson is capable of putting up some numbers.

Blogged under Big Clippers News,Bloglockers,Front Page,Injuries by alleyoop on Saturday 4 August 2007 at 11:21 am

Elton Brand ruptured his left Achilles’ tendon on Friday during a routine workout. He will miss at least the next six months which could put him out until February. This is a huge blow to the Clippers as Brand is far and away their best player on the team. The Clippers will need either first round pick Al Thornton or Tim Thomas to step up or the Clippers could be in for a very, very long season.

Blogged under Big Clippers News,Bloglockers,Front Page,Injuries by alleyoop on Thursday 5 April 2007 at 3:09 pm

They really need Cassell back because he’s a fantastic clutch player that likes to take the big shot.

Sam Cassell hurtin’

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Injuries by alleyoop on Monday 5 March 2007 at 12:45 am

Sam Cassell has a groin injury and there’s no telling when he’ll return to the line up. The Clippers really need the old guy as they are already without Shaun Livingston. Cassell is averaging 14.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game this season so he still has game left.

Shaun Livingston out for the season

Blogged under Big Clippers News,Bloglockers,Front Page,Injuries by alleyoop on Tuesday 27 February 2007 at 9:59 am

Shaun Livingston suffered a gruesome injury last night as he dislocated his left knee cap after he landed awkward after a lay up. His season is now over. Livingston played in 54 games (31 starts) this season and he averaged 29.9 minutes, 9.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Sam Cassell will now be the starting point guard the rest of the season. Daniel Ewing will now serve as the first point guard off of the bench. The loss of Livingston is a huge one for the Clippers.
