The Los Angeles Clippers lose Chauncey Billups for the rest of the 2011-12 season
The Clippers have lost 35-year old starting shooting guard Chauncey Billups for the rest of the 2011-12 season after he tore his left Achilles tendon last night against the Magic. Billups played in 20 games (all starts) for the Clippers this year and he averaged 30.4 minutes, 15.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. He has now played in 1,002 games (908 starts) in his NBA career and he is averaging 32.2 minutes, 15.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.0 steal per game. This is a big blow to the Clippers and I hope that it’s not the end of Billups’ NBA career, as he has been a pretty darn good basketball player.
