Eric Gordon is stepping up for the Los Angeles Clippers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by admin on Tuesday 30 November 2010 at 3:30 am

Due to the Clippers horrible start and the great play of rookie Blake Griffin, 21-year old shooting guard Eric Gordon’s hot start has gone overlooked.  Gordon has played in 16 games (all starts) for the Clippers so far this year and he is averaging 37.2 minutes, 24.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game.  The only thing Gordon has to do for the Clippers is quit shooting so many threes until he starts getting into a groove.  He has only made 19 of 82 (23.2%) shots from three point range so far this year and that just won’t get it done.

Rasual Butler needs to step up for the Los Angeles Clippers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to Step Up by alleyoop on Thursday 18 November 2010 at 8:09 pm

31-year old SF/SG Rasual Butler needs to step up for the Clippers. He has played in 12 games (2 starts) so far this year for the Clippers and he is averaging 24.1 minutes, 8.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. Butler is only shooting 35% from the floor and 34.4% from three point range this season and that just won’t get it done. His shooting stroke is his main skill so if he keeps heaving up bricks he’s just not going to play much.

The Los Angeles Clippers have the best set of rookies in the NBA

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Reports by alleyoop on Thursday 18 November 2010 at 8:07 pm

I know the Clippers have been terrible so far this year but you can’t blame that on the rookies who have been outstanding. 21-year old power forward Blake Griffin has played in 12 games (all starts) for the Clippers so far this year and he is averaging 35.1 minutes, 16.9 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game as he is looking like a young Karl Malone just like the scouts said he would. 21-year old point guard Eric Bledsoe is starting due to Baron Davis’ injury and he’s doing a solid job. Bledsoe has played in 12 games (9 starts) for the Clippers so far this year and he is averaging 31.1 minutes, 9.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game. 20-year old small forward Al-Farouq Aminu also has a huge upside and he has also been inserting into the starting lineup. Aminu has played in 12 games (3 starts) for the Clippers so far this year and he is averaging 16.3 minutes, 7.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 1.0 steal per game. Aminu is also shooting 13 of 24 (54.2%) from three point range which is outstanding. 21-year old shooting guard Willie Warren has played in 6 games (0 starts) for the Clippers so far this year and he is averaging 6.8 minutes, 1.3 points, 0.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. The Clippers have a bright future and these four guys are going to be a big part of it.

The Los Angeles Clippers will be without Baron Davis until Thanksgiving

Blogged under Big Clippers News,Comings & Goings,Front Page,General,Injuries by alleyoop on Sunday 14 November 2010 at 9:32 am

Starting point guard Baron Davis will be out until at least Thanksgiving due to a knee injury. Davis has played in 4 games (3 starts) for the Clippers so far this year and he is averaging 27.3 minutes, 9.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Luckily, the Clippers drafted Eric Bledsoe last June. Bledsoe has played in 10 games (7 starts) for the Clippers so far this year and he is averaging 29.7 minutes, 9.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.0 steal per game. The Clippers need Bledsoe to keep up the good work while Davis is out of action.

The Los Angeles Clippers lose Chris Kaman for a while

Blogged under Big Clippers News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by alleyoop on Wednesday 10 November 2010 at 4:23 pm

The Clippers are going to be without starting center Chris Kaman for at least the next three weeks due to a sprained ankle. Kaman has played in 8 games (all starts) for the Clippers so far this year and he is averaging 29.9 minutes, 11.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 blocked shots per game. DeAndre Jordan will likely replace Kaman in the starting lineup at center for the Clippers. He has played in 8 games (0 starts) for the Clippers so far this year and he is averaging 15.4 minutes, 5.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 0.4 assists and 1.4 blocked shots per game. Jordan is a good rebounder and defender but someone is going to have to replace Kaman’s points.

The Clippers shot 52.5% from the floor last night while holding the Thunder to 37.8% from the floor which explains the scoreboard. Eric Gordon led the way for the Clippers last night with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Rookies Blake Griffin (18 points and 9 rebounds) and Eric Bledsoe (17 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 blocked shots on 7 of 10 shooting from the floor) also had solid games for the Clippers last night. Ryan Gomes also had a solid game with 12 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal last night. The Clippers are now 1-4 on the year.

The Los Angeles Clippers lose Randy Foye for likely a couple of weeks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries by alleyoop on Tuesday 2 November 2010 at 7:13 pm

Backup shooting guard Randy Foye is going to miss the next 1-2 weeks due to a hamstring injury. Foye has played in 2 games (0 starts) for the Clippers so far this year and he is averaging 24.0 minutes, 6.0 points, 1.0 rebound and 3.0 assists per game. Look for rookie Eric Bledsoe and veteran Rasual Butler to pick up some extra P.T. until Foye is ready to return to action.

Blake Griffin is trying to make up for lost time with the Los Angeles Clippers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Reports,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 2 November 2010 at 10:21 am

21-year old rookie Blake Griffin missed all of last season due to a broken kneecap. So he is trying to make up for lost time and the early returns are quite good. Griffin has started 4 games for the Clippers so far this year and he is averaging 34.8 minutes, 16.8 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steal per game. The player that Griffin has been compared most to is Hall of Famer Karl Malone and the Clippers would be ecstatic if he has that kind of career because the result in that would be a lot of wins.

San Antonio Spurs 97, Los Angeles Clippers 88

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game recaps,General by alleyoop on Tuesday 2 November 2010 at 10:16 am

The Clippers were without Baron Davis last night and that really hurt them in this game. Eric Gordon led the way for the Clippers last night with 23 points, 4 rebounds, 11 assists and 2 steals.
