Los Angeles Clippers 85, Houston Rockets 102

The Los Angeles Clippers (8-11) just did not score enough points last night in their loss to the Houston Rockets (10-8).  The Clippers hit only 1-14 three point attempts, with Baron Davis leading the three point brick laying with a 1-7 performance from behind the arc.  Davis had a solid game otherwise, finishing with 20 points, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds.  Marcus Camby attacked the glass as usual and ended up with 9 points and 19 rebounds.  Nobody else on the Clippers had more than 5 rebounds though and besides Camby’s 7 offensive rebounds, they only had 3 as a team.  Chris Kaman needs to step up his rebounding, as Camby can’t grab every board for the Clippers.  Aaron Brooks was the Rockets leading scorer with 22 points.

Marcus Camby has stepped up so far this season for the Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers planned on having Marcus Camby back-up Chris Kaman at center and Blake Griffin at power forward this season. But, when Griffin went down with a broken kneecap, Camby was inserted in the starting lineup and he has played well. Camby has played in 18 games (18 starts) for the Clippers this season and he is averaging 31.7 minutes, 8.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 2.1 blocked shots per game. The one thing the Clippers shouldn’t do is trade Camby when Griffin gets healthy as he would be a huge asset off the bench for them.
