Shaun Livingston out for the season

Blogged under Bloglockers, Big Clippers News, Front Page, Injuries by alleyoop on Tuesday 27 February 2007 at 9:59 am

Shaun Livingston suffered a gruesome injury last night as he dislocated his left knee cap after he landed awkward after a lay up. His season is now over. Livingston played in 54 games (31 starts) this season and he averaged 29.9 minutes, 9.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Sam Cassell will now be the starting point guard the rest of the season. Daniel Ewing will now serve as the first point guard off of the bench. The loss of Livingston is a huge one for the Clippers.

The Clippers get thumped 115-90 by the Suns in Los Angeles

Blogged under Bloglockers, Game recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 21 February 2007 at 12:58 pm

The Clippers played a horrible game last night as they fell behind 62-45 at the half and they never made a game of it. The Clippers played no defense as they allowed the Suns to shoot 53.6% from the floor and the Suns outrebounded them 50-38 and those were two big keys to their blowout loss. Corey Maggette led the way for the Clippers with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Elton Brand didn’t have his best game as he scored 17 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 3 assists. Daniel Ewing had a great game off of the bench as he scored 16 points in only 29 minutes.

First half of the season disappointing for the Clippers

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 21 February 2007 at 10:01 am

The Clippers only went 25-28 in the first half of the season. They are only 1/2 a game behind the Timberwolves for the #8 spot in the playoffs in spite of how awful they have played so far this season. Corey Maggette has been sounding off because he wants to get traded and that’s hurt the team morale a little bit. Also, for some reason the Clippers decided to start Shaun Livingston over Sam Cassell early in the season and the results were not what they were expecting. If the team straightens up they can still make the playoffs. One of their major problems is that they are not good long range shooters and teams have been packing the paint against them. So maybe they will try to make a deal for a shooter before tomorrow’s trade deadline.
