Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 30 November 2006 at 10:07 pm

The Clippers lost to the Kings 93-80 on Tuesday Night. The Clippers were out-scored 23-13 in the 4th quarter and only shot 30.6% from the floor. That negated a good effort on the boards as the Clips held a 56-44 edge there.

Shaun Livingston got the start and led the way for the Clippers with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Elton Brand had a good game with 13 points and 18 rebounds. Tim Thomas (12 points, 6 rebounds) and Cuttino Mobley (16 points, 4 rebounds) each helped out on offense.

The Clippers fell to 6-7 on the season after this loss.

The Clippers get thrashed by the Jazz 112-90

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 15 November 2006 at 5:33 pm

The Clippers didn’t play any defense, allowing the Jazz to hit 51.2% of their shots for the game. The Clippers also got out-rebounded 40-32. It’s hard to win that way.

Cuttino Mobley led the way for the Clippers with 18 points. Corey Maggette came off of the bench with 17 points. Elton Brand had a decent game with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Sam Cassell had an ok game with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Tim Thomas had a good game off the bench with 12 points & 9 rebounds. Quinton Ross scored 11 points.

The Clippers had a rough night, but they still are 5-2 for the season.

Centers

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 11 November 2006 at 4:01 pm

Chris Kaman took his game to a lew level last season for the Clippers. Kaman averaged 11.9 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game last season. Kaman is the prototype NBA center. He’s slow and big, but he can play defense and rebound with the best of them. For his career, Kaman has averaged 9.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 blocks per game. Look for Kaman to build on his success of last season and to improve his numbers a little bit.

Zeljko Rebraca looks like he’ll be the back-up center for the Clippers. Rebraca will really help the Clippers if he can stay healthy which has been problem throughout his career. Rebraca has averaged 5.9 points & 3.2 rebounds despite only playing 15.3 minutes per game over his career.

Aaron Williams will be the #3 center for the Clippers and he provides excellent depth along the frontline. Williams has averaged 6.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game over his career.

Small Forwards

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 11 November 2006 at 3:47 pm

Corey Maggette will get most of the time at small forward. Maggette is a great athlete that averaged 17.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game last year. Maggette seems to like coming off of the bench better than starting which is kind of strange. Maggette has averaged 15.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game over his NBA career.

James Singleton is a decent bench player that played well when given the opportunity. Singleton only averaged 12.8 minutes per game, but he averaged 3.4 points & 3.3 rebounds in his limited time on the court.

Yaroslav Korolev was the first round pick of the Clippers last season, but he certainly didn’t play like one. He only shot 30% from the floor and only averaged 1.1 points per game as a rookie. He will be lucky to see any minutes this season.

Look for Tim Thomas & Quinton Ross to log quite a few minutes at this position too.
